Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy uses your body’s own resources to rejuvenate and heal skin

Look better. Feel better.

What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy?

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a non-surgical treatment that supports skin rejuvenation and hair restoration. It’s also used in musculoskeletal medicine to aid recovery from injuries affecting muscles, joints, tendons, and ligaments. More recently, PRP has become a popular option in aesthetic medicine as an anti-ageing solution.

This treatment harnesses the natural healing properties found in your own blood to stimulate cell repair and regeneration in targeted areas — commonly the face, scalp, or areas affected by skin ageing or thinning hair.

How Does PRP Work?

PRP therapy works by activating your body’s natural repair processes. When injected into the skin or scalp, the concentrated platelets trigger stem cells — your body’s built-in repair system — encouraging them to regenerate healthy tissue and restore function. This promotes a revitalised appearance and helps improve overall skin and hair health.

What to Expect at Trinity Dental, Rothwell..

At your initial consultation, our team will explain how PRP therapy could benefit you and carefully assess the areas you’d like to treat.

Here’s what the process looks like:

  • Step 1: Blood Collection A small blood sample is taken — it’s quick and virtually painless.
  • Step 2: Separation Your blood is placed in a machine called a centrifuge, which spins it to separate the plasma rich in platelets from other components.
  • Step 3: Injection The PRP is then precisely injected into the chosen treatment area to stimulate the body’s natural healing response.

Treatment Plan

For optimal results, we typically recommend:

  • Three PRP sessions over three months
  • Ongoing maintenance treatments once every 4–12 months, depending on your individual goals and the desired treatment area.
